A unique character full of personality.
Caron fans recently saw a number of favourites disappear.
Talk has it that it was likely due to new IFRA regulations.
It was sad news.
However, out of the ashes has come a new release.
Aimez moi comme je suis.
Love me as I am.
One thing’s for sure, I love this scent as it is.
Initial Thoughts
Aimez Moi is built around an interesting duo.
Hazelnut, and vetiver.
An intriguing combination on paper, it’s a delightful one on the nose.
Smooth, woody, earthy, nutty.
Elegance in a French painting.

The bottle is a fusion of modern elements and classic style.
Reminiscent of an opulent whisky bottle.
It doesn’t scream for attention, and neither does the fragrance.
Rather, they issue a warm, subtle invitation.
The Olfactory Notes
As mentioned earlier, the overall character of Aimez Moi is a smooth woody/nutty/earthy mix.
The scent boasts a simple lineup of six accords.
Less is more, in this case.
Ginger and grapefruit are fleeting characters in the top notes.
The ginger is more apparent than the grapefruit.
The heart is where the duo of hazelnut and vetiver come in.
It’s a delightful heart.
The hazelnut is smooth and plays uniquely with the vetiver, which is presented in a way completely unlike the barbershop character that usually comes to mind at the mention of vetiver.
Instead, this vetiver is converted into a woodsy accord that is somewhat creamy, almost like what would normally be expected from a sandalwood accord.
That, without actually being reminiscent of sandalwood.
The base is another simple composition of two accords;
Tonka bean and tobacco.
These work very well with the heart, further enhancing the woody and nutty duo of the hazelnut and vetiver.
It’s reasonable to think that this composition, on paper, could get quite cloying.
However, it doesn’t.
Even in summer.
Ratings
Longevity: .6/1
The longevity is reasonable for an eau de toilette, around six hours on a temperate day.
However, despite the scent profile’s ability to adapt to the heat, it doesn’t last in the heat.
I got two hours on a thirty degree day.
At least I smelled good for those two hours…
Projection: .5/1
The projection is the epitome of moderate.
This isn’t a bad thing, as the character of the scent is perfectly suited to this.
Blend Quality: 1/1
Perfumer Jean Jacques, who took the head perfumer role at Caron last year, has executed a masterful blend with this fragrance.
Everything coexists in harmony.
Presentation: 1/1
I’m a big fan of the presentation.
It’s timeless and inviting.
Personal Smell Score: 1/1
Three words;
I love it.
Total score: 4.1/5 A
What Would I Wear This With?
Caron have developed a classy scent here, but that doesn’t mean it’s one to reserve for dressy.
It’ll work well on a man with just about anything classically masculine.
Wear it with personality.
The scent demands that from the outfit.
Concluding Thoughts
This fragrance has knocked it out of the park.
A cracking release.
There’s little more to say, other than get your nose on it.
